There are no major updates as the F-150 Lightning is a new model introduced for the 2022 model year. Ford did, however, improve the estimate range for the standard model and added an optional Pro Trailer Hitch Assist feature that makes it easier to attach a trailer.

A 98-kWh battery pack is included with the Pro, XLT and Lariat. It provides up to 452 horsepower and 775 pound-feet of torque. Standard with the Platinum and optional with the XLT and Lariat is a 131-kWh battery pack that increases output to 580 hp. The standard-range battery provides an EPA-estimate range of 230 miles. The extended-range battery provides an EPA-estimated range of 300 miles. Towing capacity with the standard-range battery is 7,770 pounds. It’s 8,400 pounds with the extended-range battery. You also have the option of a Max Trailer Tow package that increase the max tow rating to as much as 10,000 pounds.

Every 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning near Quad Cities has the latest Sync infotainment software with a 12-inch touch screen with integrated navigation, wireless Apple and Android integration and many other advanced features. Standard driver assists include automatic headlamps, a rearview camera system, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, a lane keeping system and rear parking sensors. The XLT adds front parking sensors and upgrades the camera system with a 360-degree surround-view camera. It also gives you the option of the High package, which adds adaptive cruise control and evasive steering assist. That equipment is included with the Lariat and up. Optional with the Lariat and standard with the Platinum is Ford’s BlueCruise system.

Ford F-150 Lightning - Mechanical

A Level 1 or 120-volt connection is the slowest option and not ideal for everyday use but certainly a nice option to have when you need it. Most of our customers will want to have a Level 2 or 240-volt charger at home, and that will let you charge from zero to 100% in 10 to 15 hours. When you have access to a Level 3 charger at a DC fast-charging station, you’ll be able to charge from about 15% to 80% in under 45 minutes.

2023 Ford F-150 Lightning Colors

Ford will offer 10 distinct exterior color options in all for the inaugural model year of the F-150 Lightning pickup truck. Nine of those choices will be available with the base Pro and up-level XLT trim levels: Agate Black Metallic, Antimatter Blue Metallic, Avalanche, Azure Gray Metallic Tri-Coat, Carbonized Gray Metallic, Iconic Silver Metallic, Oxford White, Rapid Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat and Stone Gray Metallic. With the Lariat and Platinum trim levels, you also have the option of Star White Metallic Tri-Coat.
